About Branton First School

Branton is a small hamlet situated in the Breamish Valley which lies in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills. The school sits close to the boundary of, and has strong links with, the Northumberland National Park. The school also has extensive grounds that are adjacent to Branton Ponds, a nature conservation area.

Branton is a community school that is very much at the heart of the rural community it serves. As the year groups are small, pupils are known well and the curriculum is tailored to individual needs. We aim to provide a welcoming and positive environment in which our pupils thrive. Our school vision is -

'To care for, nurture and value everyone, while guiding, enlightening and developing a lifelong love of learning.'

Breamish Valley Community Nursery is a thriving Community Powers nursery that runs alongside Branton First School, children are welcome to join our nursery in the term they turn three as 'rising threes'. We also have a two year old session that runs on Wednesday afternoons from 12.45 - 3.15 pm and 'The Goslings', our Parent and Toddler group that runs on Thursday mornings from 9.30 - 11.00 am in term time.

The school site is easily accessible and you are always welcome to visit.
